One Bible – Many Churches
Some people have an interest in God and salvation that is very limited. They unconsciously feel that “making a living ”, leading a respectable life, and not harming others; that these things are enough, and they keep them busy. This pamphlet points out that there are others who would like to understand how to please God and receive salvation. However, when they try to find people who can help them, there are so many different churches, that they can’t decide what to do.
There is only one Bible. Why are there so many different churches? This pamphlet gives answers to that question, and gives suggestions about what to do about it. The main suggestion is to read the Bible diligently and look for truth and guidance.
The Bible begins to emphasize the importance of true understanding in Genesis and does so throughout. It condemns those who reject truth:
Revelation 22:8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Our Lord Jesus Christ said
John 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
God abounds in goodness and truth:
Exodus 34:6 And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth”
There is only one truth, summed up in the Gospel that Christ preached. The Apostle Paul writes:
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
